Continuous Improvement

Since more than 50 years, Continuous Improvement is successfully used in most industries. The basis was layed by American scientists working in Japan after world war II. Its basic is Statistical Process Control and the Plan-Do-Check-Act (PDCA) shown below.

After each PDCA step, the status reached has to be set as the new “standard”. Otherwise, the process performance will disappear after a while.

Arumba defines two layers, an operational, and a strategical layer. Continuous improvement can be done on both levels. Organizational Fitness Test and Organizational Monitor  are designed for the operational layer, different workshops (e.g. Top Management Workshop, Process Architecture Workshops) and the  Organizational Footprint are designed for the strategic layer.
